  • Donation
  • Real Estate
  • Financial Assets

Donation

Citizenship by investment programs are offered by many countries to attract the foreign direct investment. There are explicit funds established by the governments which allow applicants to financially contribute to these funds in exchange for the citizenship. The capital is non-refundable and is termed as “Donations”.

These funds help the countries by boosting their economy through various projects, such as real estate development, business development and job creation, etc.

The non-refundable financial contribution is in the form of a one-time payment executed upon approval of the citizenship application after a stringent vetting and due diligence process.

Real Estate

To obtain the real estate investment visa, one of the options available to applicants is to invest in real estate of the country. Some countries require applicants to invest specifically in Government-approved real estate projects while others do not pose any restrictions.

The type of real estate investments includes hotels shares, villas, apartments, commercial properties, and land.

One of the many advantages of applying for citizenship by real estate investment is that you can also receive utility bills from some asset classes, which complements the power of your citizenship for bank account opening, company set ups, amongst other important transactions.

Financial Assets

Another option for applicants to obtain citizenship or residency via investment is to make an invest in financial assets. The type of financial asset varies depending on the program and could be an investment in government bonds; in a local business or a creating a new start-up; or an investment in a locally established and government approved investment fund.

The best advantage is that you can hold the asset for the required period and sell it later on with potential capital gains. Another advantage is the government bonds are low risk by nature, and other forms of investment, such as investing in a business or a fund adapts to the risk profile of the applicant.
